Looking For A Post-Metal Drummer [13 Nov 2007|03:33pm]

[ mood | curious ]

Hey everyone!!
My name is Mike.  I'm 21 years old and I am the frontman of our band The First Among The Fallen.  My good friends Mark, Bug, and I are looking for a reliable, well-collected, artistic, and talented post-metal (From First to Last, Saosin, Underoath) style drummer to come and audition for us in Highland, CA (92404).

We recently had to drop out of our first show in Fullerton, CA because of the fact that we had to drop our last drummer for 'unreliability'.  We have lots of heart and we are very serious about taking this band as far as we are willing to take it.  Of course the whole idea of joining a band is to have fun and that's what we're all about!

If you or anybody you know is interested, please feel free to leave me a comment and I will tell you all about us!

JIVELOX [02 Dec 2006|11:12pm]

This work was developed under an umbrella of all transformation produced inside me by the cultural differences between Moscow and Belém.
During the years in Amazonia, I lived with the beauty of the rustic in its more primitive and divine forms, bud it was the skills of mine provided by the P.I Tchaikovsky conservatory that the richness of the enormous nature surrounds me was translated into music.
Finally, the name chosen, Jivelox, is a neologism, an assemblage of the word Jiv-living, root part of LIFE, in Russian-and-Velox- fast in latin-it’s a way of saying intense life.

It’s 5 from 15 compositions of album

Mauvecloud Sings! [10 Mar 2006|09:21pm]

As promised by the lying playbill.

The demo is here.

The lyrics are here.
All mistakes and goofs are Mauvecloud's. The more plausible-sounding lines are most probably Yoshinori's.

The haha! translation is here.
Written in a haha! mode in reply to Yoshinori's pleading question: "What exactly do we want to say here?"

This number is dedicated to all yaoi fans, old and young, butch and femme, communists and fascists!
Though it might make an interesting study to non-fans wishing to delve into the psyche of some yaoi fan.

Please tell us what you think of the vocals, music or lyrics! If you don't feel like complaining to Mauvecloud, feel free to spam Yoshinori.

(May the souls of those poor mosquitos rest in pieces! =P)

A one-man show still =) [11 Nov 2005|07:25pm]

Hi! In between work, study and loiterage, I have been composing since 2000, and the songs seem to add up ever so slowly - I'd be grateful if you'd take the time to check them out at Soundclick or the mirror site here and tell me what you think. Pimping my nondescript talents aside, I am also desperate for a lyricist/vocalist. More info behind the cut.

1. Daniel, 17, Berkeley

2. What are your abilities?
I'm a guitarist-in-training. I can play it, but I don't consider myself a guitarist until I can do the most difficult songs at least somewhat well.

3. What music do you frequently listen to?
Many kinds, but mainly post-rock and some metal.

4. What music are you interested in making?
I'm very open to trying anything, as long as I enjoy being in the band. But I suppose I'd like to make one of the following:
Progressive (particularly the "heavy prog"-esque vein of Tool)

5. What equipment do you currently own/plan on obtaining in the near future?
I have a Pignose guitar and amp.

6. What are your musical goals?
To make something that I and others will enjoy.

7. Is there a particular image you're going for? If so, what?
A band that plays like a band, not "the singer plus some other guys", and enjoys each other's company.

I'd love to form a band with some people, but from what I've seen so far, most people are just interested in doing fast, lyrical 3 string punk bands around here, though that does sound kind of fun.
